Power of Physical Fitness

Movement is a medicine for creating change in a person's physical, emotional, and mental states. ~Carol Welch

In this series of posts are reflections on the behaviors of successful people that are worthy of emulation...

We have previously identified that

Successful people are
  • Congruent
  • Present
They
  • Suspend Judgement
  • Cultivate Positive Thoughts
  • Understand the Power of Words
  • Are Physically Fit
  • Make the Best Use of Their Time
  • Study Successful Role Models
  • Listen
  • Serve Others
The focus of this post is on the benefits of being physically fit beyond just health measures.... Increasing our level of physical fitness increases our energy level which gives us greater power to accomplish our goals. Higher energy levels help to increase our stamina and reduces fatigue, which means we are able to accomplish more with less effort. Increasing our level of physical fitness typically involves participating in some type of exercise which has the ability to improve our mood, as well as reduce tension and anxiety, while promoting relaxation.

When we stay, or work to become, physically fit we are more likely to stay active and independent. We are also more likely to maintain mobility and keep a sharp mind. This leads to higher quality of life as we age.

The more we increase our energy, the more likely our bodies will maintain themselves and avoid breaking down.

Energy is the source of all accomplishment. For greater accomplishments, we need higher levels of energy. We can cultivate habits and activities, along with being in the present moment, that increase our energy such as smiling frequently, hugging a child or pet, or listening to uplifting music.

One sure way we can boost our energy is to think of something that brings us immense joy. Another way is to think of something that made us laugh so hard it brought tears to our eyes. Sit with the feeling for just a minute. Really take the time to revel in it....

Without a doubt, everything is energy...
When we focus on learning how to access, control, and direct it, we have the power to achieve the best results with the least effort.
